The detector is highly sensitive and has a discrimination function that distinguishes iron/precious metals. The metal detector is battery operated - two 9V batteries are required to power the detector.

- A / M ALL METAL (all metals) - This mode is designed to detect all types of metal.
- DISC (discrimination) - DISC mode can eliminate unwanted metal targets
- MEMORY - The detector is designed to detect the only stored metal target
- JEWELRY (jewelry) - This mode indicates that the discrimination pattern is optimized for locating most jewelry. JEWELRY mode will still find coins, relics, etc. Most nails and small iron pieces are automatically ignored.

Acoustic target detection provides detection tones in three tones (high, medium and low) for different types of metal. Headphone jack allows connection of 3.5mm headphones for trouble-free operation.
