Maclean MCE640 Wall Scanner 3 in 1 Metal Detector
The locator is used to detect metals (ferrous and non-ferrous metals), wooden beams and live cables in walls, ceilings and floors made of conventional concrete, ceramic tiles, wooden panels, etc.
Professional locating device finds its application for electricians and plumbers as well as for do-it-yourselfers.
The detector has compact dimensions and the set includes a carrying case that makes it easy to carry and store the device. Very Easy to Use - The locator has a backlit LCD screen, audio and visual display.
3 operating modes:
-Metal detection:
When metal objects are detected, the red light will illuminate and the sound will be turned off. The closer the detector is to the metal, the stronger the detection signal and the more bars light up. If the detector does not detect any metal objects nearby, the green light will illuminate.
Maximum measuring depth for ferrous metals is 5cm. Non-ferrous metals (copper) are recognized up to 8cm.
-Detection of live cables:
When an AC voltage of 110 to 220 V is detected, the red light will illuminate and the sound will be turned off. The stronger the signal, the more bars light up. If there is no AC power cord near the detection area, the indicator lights green. The detector can detect AC power lines at 50 or 60 Hertz (Hz).
The maximum depth for detecting live wires is 5 cm.
-Wood detection:
When wood is detected, the red light lights up and the sound signal is switched off.
When using capacitance detection, water pipes and other non-wood materials can also produce inductive signals that can affect the results.
The maximum depth for recognizing wood is 2 cm.
